Following Safe size for printing image from browser, I saved my Illustrator file with vector drawings as a PDF. It weighs three times more than the PNG export of the same file at 300 ppi, 4.2 MB versus 1.5 MB. The Illustrator file, saved without the PDF compatible file, is 2.7 MB. Here is the design, saved at 72 ppi:
I’m creating a poster that is 50cm x 70cm at 300dpi. The empty document is 5.1M when saved… which still seems ridiculous for a completely empty white document, but I can live with it.
I have an image that I’m using on a website. I would like to use an SVG so that it can be any size and still look crisp.
When I save my image for the web in Adobe Photoshop, the produced jpeg is larger than the original jpeg file. The only alteration done to the image is cropping.
I have two files with same dimensions and I want to save my vector file to web SVG. Problem is that this file size is more than generate the same file to PNG for web.
Why is it that when I save a file that has many, many layers to a PDF without layers as a copy that the file size is larger than flattening the layers and then saving the file as a copy to PDF? 19Mb vs. 5Mb?? Wouldn’t saving a file without layers be the same as flattening the layers and then saving the file?? Can anyone explain this?

I have to upload alot of product images to an eCommerce website. Dimensions are now 600x600px and image size 200-300kb. I want to batch reduce the file size of these to under 70kb.
I am looking for some platforms on which I can keep my heavy PSDs and other AI files safe. Also, I want to be able download them later when I want.
What can I try to make my animted .gif image smaller? It was created in adobe flash and converted into .gif after, however it’s still way too big, it’s 3mb and I need it under 1mb. What can I try?
