Get number of widgets in sidebar
How can I get the number of widgets that are active on a specific sidebar? Is there a core function for this?

I am trying to find a way to link the ‘username’ in comments from registered and logged in users to their profile pages instead of their website URL. And comments from unregistered users to their website URL as usual.
I’m trying to remove current_page_parent class from the blog index menu item (I got a custom page to display all blog posts and it is in the menu) when navigating custom post type archive page and custom post type posts.
A site of my company uses blog on WordPress 3.3.1 with theme based on Twenty Ten. Last week I upgraded Apache and PHP on our production server. Afterwards the dashboard refused to work. When a user logs in, a blank dashboard appears. A menu with links is still present, but none of the links work, so one cannot create new posts etc. In the page source I see the following message:
