I’m trying to follow the post here, which may very well be wrong, to learn a little more about partial view loading in MVC. I know the basics of MVC but want to do more of the ajax stuff I used to do before I started using MVC.
Got kind of a tricky problem.
I’ve been having problems with this code I had spent the last 3 hours digging around and trying to find an answer. As I wasn’t successful, I will just post the code and ask which kind of parameters I should have on my web service to handle this request:
I have a GridView with a column of checkboxes (the rest of the GridView is being populated from a database). I’m using AJAX to perform different functions, and I’m wondering if i’m just not calling the OnCheckedChanged event in the right place. Should it be wrapped in some sort of UpdatePanel? I’m still really new to how all of this works…basically what I’m aiming for is to change a bit value in my database when a checkbox is checked. I know the logic of how to do that, I just don’t know if I’m addressing my OnCheckedChanged event the right way.

I have a user control that I’m creating that is using some AJAX in jQuery.
I am studying the ajax long polling but I am confused. what is different in traditional ajax calls and long polling
