I have a user control with linkbuttons (used for paging) and a repeater inside an update panel. The paging works correctly, but is causing a full page postback every time I click through to the next page.
How can I retrieve a Button custom attribute after the attribute value has been changed using javascript?
Could I get some confirmations from the community that I’m not going mad, and that the life cycle of a page during post back is in deed in a different order to when the page is initally requested.
I am using AJAX in asp:net and am trying to handle a situation where an asp:button triggers both a javascript method and a codebehind c# method. To do this I am using onclick and onClientClick attributes for the button. I need a postback to occur for the codebehind to be called however this postback causes the javascript to not work because variables have lost state. Can anyone describe how to handle this? Possible with ajax and async postbacks? It’s starting to drive me a bit crazy!

I have two listboxes in my application on button click i am pushing the item from one list box to other , the code works fine but it causes postback , while i move the item from one list box to other whole page is being loaded again , how i can prevent this .
