Currently I am using a dedicated web server connected via private network to a dedicated database server to run WordPress. The database server is running on Centos 7 and mariadb 5.5.
I am considering to upgrade the web server to centos 8 and mariadb 10.3.
I’m upgrading multisite to 3.5.1 and it did not allow me to do automatic upgrading I see this message:
I recently updated my blog’s WordPress version to 3.9. After running the update I received this message upon trying to access the admin panel.
I just updated to 3.1.3 and now when I go to the admin I get the “Database Update Required” /wp-admin/upgrade.php screen. I click ‘Upgrade Now’ and it says it’s done, but then trying to access anything in the admin gets me the same screen again. How do I get past this?

I have a former customer who, contrary to my recommendations, has not stayed on top of their WP upgrades. They now need to make the leap from 3.5.1 to 4.1.1 (or whatever is current at the moment). They used a fairly vanilla theme (might have even been Twenty Eleven), and not used too many plugins.
