I have a post type the uses post_save to take the address from the post-meta and retrieve the lat/lng coordinates from the Google API. I need a way of notifying the user if there was an issue with retrieving the coordintes. I tried using admin_notices, but nothing displayed:
I have two WordPress installations, one at http://inversekarma.in and the other at http://inversekarma.in/photos. The latter is a photoblog, and its theme uses the standard WP post thumbnails (EDIT: featured images, to be precise!). Is there a way to show the most recent thumbnails from the second site on my first site’s sidebar?
I’m considering rebuilding a drupal site in wordpress and am still wrapping my head around the differences between the systems – particularly cck/fields and custom content types and the different ways to use taxonomy.
The question is “What is the Difference Between Hierarchical and Non-Hierarchical Taxonomies?” This question really stumped me at first so I figured it would be a good idea to show the difference to others surfing the site looking for the distinction.

I’m looking at the get_categories() function in the WordPress codex to see how I can return all of the children of each “root parent” ( categories that have no parents ). For example, if I am interested in the children for multiple “root parents”, I’d like to know if there will be more than one instance of the same child under a different “root parent”.
