I have a new project i created in VS 2013. I am using the identity system and i’m confused how to get a list of all users to the application and all roles int he application. I am trying to create some admin pages so i can add new roles, add roles to users, see who all is logged in or locked.
I’m trying to use the new Asp.Net Identity system. I’ve searched this in asp.net site and able to find a tutorial here.
Last night I was working on a new project using FormsAuthentication and was customizing the ticket to include a security token so if the user logs off in one browser it logs off in all of them. In looking at the latest iteration of ASP.net Identity, it looks like it already has this functionality built in.

I have created an application in ASP.NET MVC 5. Now I need to deploy the application on the server. Will my existing passwords work in ASP.NET Identity 2 when I deploy? Or do I need to use the same machine key that I have in my client machine?
Of course cookies can be stolen and sessions hijacked, but how secure is the encryption itself of the session cookies (in ASP.NET Identity)? Could it be manipulated with modern hardware and a little bit of time?

I have a stored procedure that updates status. Depending on the role of the user the stored procedure has code that may or may not allow the status change. For this reason I need to pass a role name into a stored procedure. My role name is stored on the client in my javascript code but of course I need a second check on the server. Each user has only one of three roles and when requesting an update of status I can call one of three methods depending on the role that the client has. Here’s what I tried.
