I am using 32-bit Red Hat Linux in my VM. I want to boot it to command-line mode, not to GUI mode. I know that from there I can switch to GUI mode using startx command. How do I switch back to command-line mode?
I’m getting this error in Debian stretch during the boot process
I have been trying to create a bootable debian (jessie/8.4) image for the past 2 days, and as far as I can tell I have the procedure right, but I can not get the filesystem right. I am relatively sure that I am doing something wrong here, missing something with mounting or /etc/fstab (there isn’t one in my image). I was hoping someone with some experience would be able to help me out/show me what I am missing.
I have an old-ish Lenovo ideapad 110-15ISK with Fedora 30 installed (and a LUKS-encrypted SSD as storage).
There has been a similar question – but IMHO there has to be a simpler solution. If num-lock is on in the BIOS – why is it turned off during linux boot and/or KDE/Gnome/whatever startup?

Usually BIOSes have an option to schedule a time to which to boot at. Is there a Unix/Linux interface to specify the scheduled boot?
