Place label at center of doughnut chart
I’ve developed a web page with MS Chart (.net framework 2.0, visual studio 2010).

I am having issues attempting to replicate a chart that has been generated in Microsoft Excel 2007 by using the Microsoft Chart Control for .Net
I’m building a Column chart with System.Web.UI.DataVisualization.Charting and would like to show a dotted line to represent an average. StripeLine seems to be exactly what I’m looking for except it sits under/behind the columns (see example).
I am trying to plot a chart with the 1st and 2nd columns of data as bars and then a line overlay for the 3rd column of data.
In Matplotlib, it’s not too tough to make a legend (example_legend(), below), but I think it’s better style to put labels right on the curves being plotted (as in example_inline(), below). This can be very fiddly, because I have to specify coordinates by hand, and, if I re-format the plot, I probably have to reposition the labels. Is there a way to automatically generate labels on curves in Matplotlib? Bonus points for being able to orient the text at an angle corresponding to the angle of the curve.
I’ve been having some difficulty with Matplotlib’s finance charting. It seems like their candlestick charts work best with daily data, and I am having a hard time making them work with intraday (every 5 minutes, between 9:30 and 4 pm) data.
Using matplotlib in python. The legend overlaps with my pie chart. Tried various options for “loc” such as “best” ,1,2,3… but to no avail. Any Suggestions as to how to either exactly mention the legend position (such as giving padding from the pie chart boundaries) or at least make sure that it does not overlap?
