I’m fine customizing most settings in LS_COLORS. I don’t need help customizing the colors for different file suffixes. What I would like to do is configure special colors for certain directories, based on their suffix.
We have a directory and want to protect that from remove and rename, but we need to be able to rename, remove and create contents. What we can do?
A question for ls command.
If I have two users called john and sally. Both are part of the users group. john creates a directory with permissions 775. sally then puts a file there with 644 permissions.
I have a script that needs to create temporary files for its work, and clean up after itself. My question is about finding the right base directory for the temporary files.
Assume there’s an image storage directory, say, ./photos/john_doe, within which there are multiple subdirectories, where many certain files reside (say, *.jpg). How can I calculate a summary size of those files below the john_doe branch?
