I’ve always been amazed/frustrated with how long it takes to simply output to the terminal with a print statement. After some recent painfully slow logging I decided to look into it and was quite surprised to find that almost all the time spent is waiting for the terminal to process the results.
I received a Python project (which happens to be a Django project, if that matters,) that uses the fcntl module from the standard library, which seems to be available only on Linux. When I try to run it on my Windows machine, it stops with an ImportError, because this module does not exist here.
I’m trying to write some short script in python which would start another python code in subprocess if is not already started else terminate terminal & app (Linux).
I am using ftplib to connect to an ftp site. I want to get the most recently uploaded file and download it. I am able to connect to the ftp server and list the files, I also have put them in a list and got the datefield converted. Is there any function/module which can get the recent date and output the whole line from the list?
Is there any way I can get the PID by process name in Python?
