I got into a little debate with someone yesterday regarding the logic and/or veracity of my answer here, vis., that logging and maintaining fs meta-data on a decent (GB+) sized SD card could never be significant enough to wear the card out in a reasonable amount of time (years and years). The jist of the counter-argument seemed to be that I must be wrong since there are so many stories online of people wearing out SD cards.

Dealing with a whole bunch of two-line config files, I’d like a way to exclude any files that have a different number of lines.
For example if I want to create a file and enter text in one line I can redirect the output into a file with the use of the > operator:
Whenever I run clear in my terminal, it deletes the scrollback buffer from the top of the screen to the current line. I have tried it in xterm, st, and urxvt, and the problem remains. Is there any way I can change the behavior of clear so it does not touch the scrollback buffer?
