Using v2 of the REST API, I’m wanting to query some posts by multiple meta keys. With v1 I was able to format the url like &filter[meta_value][month]=12&[meta_value][year]=2015 and it worked (after exposing the meta values to the API).
I’m using the_excerpt on my index page. I’m also using a dropcap shortcode at the beginning of each of my posts. On the index page, the posts will not display the letter with the dropcap shortcode around it. If my post beings with the word “Dog” the index page displays “og”. How do I get shortcodes to work when using the_excerpt?
I’m planning a custom WordPress theme where the Custom Post Type (CPT) will have latitude and longitude coordinate as it’s meta value. The latitude and longitude will be displayed as a Marker in a Google Map.

However, the wp_list_comments() function as I use it in my theme’s comments.php template does not seem to provide options to alter the HTML produced:
Is it possible to change the author base slug according to his role? For example, authors get example.com/ninja/%username% and subscribers get example.com/trainee/%username%?
When I use wp_mail( $to, $subject, $message, $headers ) (with values in place, of course), the email gets sent with a from name and email that isn’t set anywhere I can find (not even in PHP or Apache settings). However, using mail( $to, $subject, $message, $headers ) instead works just fine. What could be happening with wp_mail() to cause this?

I have a site with tons of posts hundreds/thousands of which have YouTube videos embedded. Most use the default youtube_url format and the actual embed code is stored in the oEmbed postmeta fields.
We have a plugin that allows us to manage custom post types and we’d like to add AJAX functionality in saving, editing, and deleting posts. I couldn’t find similar problems in the internet so I’m wondering if this isn’t something easily doable?
I have used Jeff Star’s tutorial for creating my own custom login form http://digwp.com/2010/12/login-register-password-code/. It works great, but I have one problem. On the reset password form, if someone enters their username incorrectly (so that it doesn’t verify), they get kicked to the default wp-login.php?action=lostpassword with the error message.
