I am working with a non-profit client that runs several charities under one umbrella. A good metaphor would be to think of the United Way (but it’s not the United Way).
I’d like to prevent certain user roles from accessing the dashboard http://www.openeye.net/wp-admin/ at all. I’ve moved and restyled user profiles to a new page that’s viewable on the site. How would I go about doing this?
I want to add a page of content (a readme file) in the WordPress admin, I can’t seem to find how to do this in the codex – can anyone point me in the right direction? It will literally just be a simple page with a few paragraphs of content.

Currently I use the “Admin Columns Pro” plugin for WordPress to modify some of the columns in the backend. The plugin contains functionality to display the post (or in my case, product) author as a column.
Is there a list of WordPress CSS id/classes that I can use to build plugin option screens that look and feel more like a normal WordPress option page? I have found some through serendipity but it would have been nice to have a list.
I’m looking for a way to set the default “View” options under post types in the admin area. For example, by default Posts will default to a “list” view instead of “excerpt” – I’d like to change this to excerpt by default – what would be the best way to achieve this? I’ve done a bit of searching on this, but am stuck in the mud thus-far. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
What is the difference, which one should I use?
I just decided to try using WordPress for a CMS (not a blog). The site will have some product information that I want the client to be able to update. Instead of creating an entire admin side just for them to update their products, is it possible to create a form in the WordPress admin so they can add products to a database?
I want to give the Editor Role access to editing the sidebar and it’s contents. I have a text widget in there and in order to edit this text widget the user needs to be an admin – this sucks. How do I grant permission to the Editor Role that will give him access to edit the sidebar?
