I just switched over to using the new 2.0 version of the Identity Framework. In 1.0 I could get a user object by using manager.FindByIdAsync(User.Identity.GetUserId()). The GetUserId() method does not seem to exists in 2.0.

I have been looking into the new features of the new version of ASP.NET Identity 2.1 and one of its enhancements is the new IoC features integrated into the OWIN Middleware.
One of the sentences that I looked in the examples is this one:
Having a problem with saving user changes to the database, like changing the person’s name. I’m using the IdentityModel that is automatically created in a new VS2013 web project using individual authentication. Sadly, the template doesn’t allow you to change any user information, other than changing roles. I’m looking around via google, I haven’t found much. Anyone implement updating using the base identity code?
I am using ASP.Net Core and MS Identity, I try to understand why after each deployment the login users are logged out.

My application has been in development for about a month. I now decided to use ASP.NET Identity. I already have the view models for identity but need to create the tables. I was thinking and I am not exactly sure why I do not have the tables already if I have the view models?? I have drop create on in the initializer with my own custom context, I just need to know how to get EF to build the included Identity tables for users and roles? I looked around and none of the posted answers seem to be what I need?
I’m new to ASP.NET MVC and I’ve been developing a MVC 5 application with individual user authentication. I’ve been doing a layered pattern when doing my applications like separating Model layer, DAL layer, Repos, etc. etc. but now in MVC 5, I want to be able to use the user and role management and authentication which they call Identity, and then still have that layered structure to my application because right now it seems Identity is pretty much coupled with the MVC project itself with the user and role models in there and the context too.
Does anyone know how to enable a user to change username/email with ASP.NET identity with email confirmation? There’s plenty of examples on how to change the password but I can’t find anything on this.
I have problem in which i would like to create N, two in the example, user objects (e.g. Customer & Supplier) which all inherent from the asp.net IdentityUser object. These object have very different additional data besides the the data from the IdentityUser. I would like to use the IdentityUser user as this gives me a flexible way of taking care of authentication and authorization.
