I want to extend a large C project with some new functionality, but I really want to write it in Python. Basically, I want to call Python code from C code. However, Python->C wrappers like SWIG allow for the OPPOSITE, that is writing C modules and calling C from Python.
I’m looking for Python code that removes C and C++ comments from a string. (Assume the string contains an entire C source file.)
On the second call of the following code, my app segfault, so I guess I am missing something :
Why does Python seem slower, on average, than C/C++? I learned Python as my first programming language, but I’ve only just started with C and already I feel I can see a clear difference.
I’m learning C++ because it’s a very flexible language. But for internet things like Twitter, Facebook, Delicious and others, Python seems a much better solution.
I am interfacing with a server that requires that data sent to it is compressed with Deflate algorithm (Huffman encoding + LZ77) and also sends data that I need to Inflate.

I need an algorithm that can compare two text files and highlight their difference and ( even better!) can compute their difference in a meaningful way (like two similar files should have a similarity score higher than two dissimilar files, with the word “similar” defined in the normal terms). It sounds easy to implement, but it’s not.
