I have 2 custom post types ‘bookmarks’ and ‘snippets’ and a shared taxonomy ‘tag’. I can generate a list of all terms in the taxonomy with get_terms(), but I can’t figure out how to limit the list to the post type. What I’m basically looking for is something like this:

Is there a simple or easy way to exclude all posts from a custom taxonomy in the loop? I’ve been looking high and low, and neither SE, SO or Google seem to have a straight answer.
I’m looking to create custom archive page based on passed arrays which contains categories and tags, for an example:
I have a custom post type called “services” with a custom taxonomy called “location”. Each post is categorized as either “Location A” or “Location B”.
I have a custom post type “mycustom_products” (hierarchical) that has custom taxonomies called ‘categories’ and ‘tags’ (as many other custom post types do). My custom category is called “myprod_category” (also hierarchical) and my tag taxonomy is called “product_tag” (not hierarchical).
I know there are a lot of posts about this here, but NONE of them have answered my problem.
I’m considering rebuilding a drupal site in wordpress and am still wrapping my head around the differences between the systems – particularly cck/fields and custom content types and the different ways to use taxonomy.
Let me explain the problem I am dealing with:
I have build a custom post_type with “Work items” in order to enter my personal portfolio items. The “Work items” have taxonomies like “Graphics”, “Websites” etc.
