Retrieving extended package object descriptors into Eclipse with IDE plugin

On my development org, I have a certain package installed, containing several custom objects. I have added a few custom fields to some of those objects through the web GUI. I have tried to pull those changes into the SFDC Project in my local Eclipse workspace, but even after I refreshed the metadata components list, I can’t find and select these objects for retrieval.

Error when updating MySQL database using UPDATE – SET – WHERE method in Eclipse

I am making a program using Eclipse that allows the user to update the volume of chemicals everytime they’re restocked/used, which requires them to enter the ID of the chemical and the amount they would like to add/subtract. A query is then performed to search for the chemical’s ID in the database, and its volume is updated accordingly.

Why does Eclipse propose “Object” as default mapping type for datatype “Text”?

When generating JPA Entities from tables with Eclipse (Juno 4.2 for Java EE Developers) it proposes Object as default mapping type for properties I set to be Text.
That is quite annoying as I would have to set them all to String manually.
Has someone encountered that kind of problem and knows what to do? Is this a bug? Eclipse Indigo does not behave like that.

java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.mysql.jdbc.Driver during Runtime (eclipse / maven /tomcat)

I’m getting this error while running tomcat ‘java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.mysql.jdbc.Driver’. I’m using a combination of Eclipse (Indigo, J2EE version) / Maven (m2e-wtp) / Tomcat 7.0. I’ve included this dependency in my pom file for my web application (build from scratch). <dependency> <groupId>mysql</groupId> <artifactId>mysql-connector-java</artifactId> <version>5.1.6</version> </dependency> I do not get any compilation errors in the ‘Problems’ view … Read more
