I have a site where users can make posts. The users can be from all over the globe so when they post, I am storing the posted date as DateTime.UtcNow. I am using the JQuery time ago plug in to show the posted dat similar to stack overflow (1 min ago etc…) But I am not sure how to convert to date I have stored in the system to the users local time? I have an asp.net page with a an html5 TextBox control set as the “date” type. The control on my page looks like this:
I have a list: Collection users which has around 100K+ records of users (all user objects fully loaded from the database with fields like Bio, First name, last name etc). This collection is fetched on application start from the database and is kept in memory.
We tried several ways to make a textbox to accept the “enter”, newline, etc.. But we are still facing the same problems. Most of the “Third party” controls allow the user to format the text as he wants. Eg, add color, font, table, etc.. However, for most stylish websites, we do not want to allow the user to format the text that way.
