I am trying to delete text inside a text box after waiting 5 seconds, but instead the program wont run and does sleep over everything else. Also is there a way for me to just make my textbox sleep so i can run other code while the text is frozen?

I’m trying to match time formats in AM or PM.
I want to set a label in Tkinter using my countdown timer function. Right now all it does is set the lable to “10” once 10 is reached and I don’t really understand why. Also, even if I have the timer print to a terminal instead the “Time’s up!” bit never prints.
There has to be an easier way to do this. I have objects that want to be refreshed every so often, so I want to record when they were created, check against the current timestamp, and refresh as necessary.

Is there a way to measure time with high-precision in Python — more precise than one second? I doubt that there is a cross-platform way of doing that; I’m interesting in high precision time on Unix, particularly Solaris running on a Sun SPARC machine.
