I’ve been trying to install archlinux on xps one.
the screen doesn’t work because it has intel g45/g43 express chipset.
I had to use nomodeset option as mentioned in the installation guide.
Arch somewhat booted but i get an error:
On a Debian system, one can type pager in order to use whatever pager program happens to be default/available. By default, less is used, and if not available, the lesser more gets to do the job. Is such a thing available in other Unix and Linux systems?

I have my encrypted Archlinux installed on my SSD. Now I have one HDD with Windows installed. But in my GRUB just Archlinux is shown (no Wonder, because I just installed Windows on the other HDD, GRUB doesn’t know of that by now.).
I want to install mesa 18 from stretch-backports. Currently all the mesa related packages were marked as automatically installed and I want to keep it that way.
Both hier(7) and file-hierarchy(7) man pages claim to describe the conventional file system hierarchy. However, there are some differences between them. For example, hier(7) describes /opt and /var/crash, but file-hierarchy(7) does not. What are the differences between these two descriptions. Which one do real Linux systems use?
