I can’t boot my Linux Mint after installation of Windows. First I installed Windows and then installed Linux Mint with the option of “Install along with windows”. But after I completed the Mint install only Windows is booting.
I recently installed CentOS 7 on a machine that has been running Windows 7. I did a dual boot installation and installed CentOS in a partition. But when I boot up my machine, it only gives me two CentOS options. It does not give me the option to choose to boot Windows 7. How can I add windows 7 back to the boot options?
My system was configured to dual boot Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS and Windows 7. Today I got my hands on the MSDN release of Windows 8 and I installed it over my Windows 7. Now the computer just boots to Windows 8 directly without loading the GRUB screen.

I’d like to install linux, but I don’t want to risk damaging my current windows installation as I have heard a lot of horror stories. Fortunately, I have an extra hard drive. Can I install linux onto that and then dual boot windows without having to modify the windows drive?
I’ve followed the classic procedure to install Windows and Linux in dual boot. First I installed Windows in UEFI mode, then I use a bootable PopOS key to resize the main Windows partition; I created a Linux partition as well as a 500MB /boot/efi partition in the remaining space.
Terminology: ESP = my FAT32 EFI partition.
I currently dual boot Windows 7 and Fedora 14, using GRUB, with Windows 7 as my default. I know that from Fedora, I can set GRUB to boot into Fedora, overriding the default, on the next reboot. Is there a way to do this from Windows? That is, can I change the GRUB configuration permanently or semi-permanently from Windows so I don’t have to be in front of my computer to boot into Fedora?
