Why does rsync fail to copy files from /sys in Linux?
I have a bash script which uses rsync to backup files in Archlinux. I noticed that rsync failed to copy a file from /sys, while cp worked just fine:

After getting my 3g-modem to work in Arch Linux I wanted to eliminate some manual labour required in the process. Hence I needed to create an udev rule. After some trial and error I came up with the following rule named 11-my-rule.rules which I placed at /etc/udev/rules.d/: # start at sdb to ignore the system … Read more
When I was using kubuntu, I could always open X applications with sudo, sudo kate for example. Now that I’ve switched to arch that doesn’t work. I know I’ve always been told to use kdesu, but what setting is there in kubuntu that lets me use sudo on X apps that prevents me from doing it on arch?
I’m setting up udev to handle my external USB hard drive when it gets plugged in and removed (no mounting yet). So far, I’ve made two new rules in /etc/udev/rules.d/10-local.rules to log adding/removing the disk to a file:
I’ve switched to using Arch Linux for most of my day to day work and don’t need Windows for anything but gaming and the couple of apps that aren’t ported to Linux like OneNote. My Linux distribution is hosted in VirtualBox with Windows as host, and I quite like it that way, snapshots are incredibly useful.

I’m running a headless server installation of arch linux. The high rate of kernel upgrades caused me some maintainance headache and I therefore wish to switch to the lts kernel.
About a month ago I switched from Ubuntu 14.04 LTS to Arch and I’m quite happy with this decision. However, I miss some features with my new distro, especially Shift+printscr which in Unity allows selection of a screen region to be captured.
Can someone give me a good reference on how to achieve this, or just tell me how its done? Google isn’t really helping me here, since it always tries to give me recommendations on touchpad :/
I’m trying out XFCE on Arch Linux, and for some reason the Lock Screen option in the session menu doesn’t do anything. Neither does running xflock4 at the command line (it exits 0 with no output).
