I have two machines, both running kubuntu: server & client. I’d like to connect to server from client and start the full graphical interface without fear that some commands would be run as client user.
I need to record every keystroke and store in a file in the user directory ~, when using my account, I am not sudoer and I cannot install programs (like logKeys) in any way. How could I do so using terminal?
Let’s say I have 2 user accounts user1 and user2. When I login as user1, and then switch to user2 using su, I can execute command-line programs, but GUI programs fail.

I answered on Ask Ubuntu Quit all instances of gnome-terminal via a command but as you all can read gnome-terminal didn’t seems to have a SIGcall I could use to simulate this “Close” event. So this lead me to ask, is there a way in GNOME/KDE/LXDE/{put your window/desktop manager/environment here} to simulate the “Click in close button” event? I have read different questions that could have any relation to this, but don’t answer this.

I have installed Debian wheezy on my machine with a netinst image, now I would like to deactivate the desktop and boot straight to the command line, not only that but I would like to not waste any resource on the X11/gnome/gdm at all if not needed.
